I wholeheartedly recommend Dave’s Organic Garden Products. I’ve personally benefitted from Dave’s great service plus his knowledge of our local Townsville climate, appropriate organic principles and products. Although I’ve enjoyed gardening for over 60 years, mostly in southern Queensland, I’ve found sustainable gardening in the dry tropics a challenge. Up here is different. The bugs breed faster, the soil is hungrier and it dries out quicker. It is very wet and then very dry for a long time.

When I shifted to the dry tropics 15 years ago, I sought local knowledge to grow vegetables, fruit trees and landscape sustainably. Although reading many gardening books for the dry tropics and even the local area, I have really appreciated Dave’s knowledge and assistance. He offered to visit our garden, which was 20minutes drive from town. During a walk around Dave asked many questions before making any suggestions.

Plants in several newly established beds were struggling. I’d previously decided my testing kit was out of date because the results were so far from normal. We did multiple soil tests with Dave. Unfortunately, it the imported soil was the problem, not my test kit. Dave was able to make simple organic suggestions which have improved the ph and dramatically productivity of these particular beds.- Noela
